On Wednesday 1 December, we finally reach the pinnacle sporting achievements of our Canadian. Tickets (hard-won to attend the hockey game Canadians) out of their secret hideout, we have to brave the rain and wind to take the subway to the Bell Centre.
We arrive on site almost 45 minutes before kickoff, scheduled to 19h, the game between the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers. The crowd is already impressive and far from disparate: everyone is in red and white or blue and white ... Each proudly displays a large C on his chest and we're no exception (thank you again William, thanks to you I could go incognito).
The cheerleaders were very friendly (wink, wink) |
Cuckoo Marc! |
Twenty minutes before the start, each gaining a place to watch the end of the heating of the players. The stadium was filled gradually and the 21 273 seats find almost all policyholders, except that of Digger. The Alouettes (the local football team for those with good memory) have welcomed the stadium and waving their last trophy, won quite recently. But now instead of hockey and everyone gets up to sing the national anthem.
prime highlight of the evening. Then the match begins at last! Between the quiet moments where the only sounds audible are those butts clashing, and the frantic moments expected, the agility of the actors is simply awesome. We are furthermore rather good position and can really watch the game without worry, contrary to the assumed distance of our places foreshadowed. The overall vision of the game still gives a better idea than anything we had seen through the small window, eh Mr. Leblanc. And goal! Gomez goal for Montreal, delirium in the stands! The top of the gallery is also the place most enthusiastic of the stadium, the fans being driven by young hostesses in good voice (and in many forms). The first part of the game is already over. 1-0.
- "O Canada! Land of our forefathers,
- Your forehead is wreathed with glorious jewels.
- Because your arm can bear the sword
- He knows how to wear the cross
- Your story is an epic
- With Glowing
- God keep our land, glorious and free!
- O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
- O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. "
We join Chris to watch the second period all together. But after five minutes, two spectators arrived very late coming to take their places and we go off again.
The match races and Canadians seem to parties: 3-1 at the end of the second inning, and Hamrlik Darche goals for Montreal!
3-1, all was well again ... Note in passing the sponsor on the left! |
The second interruption is an opportunity to taste the most disgusting chips that can be found here. To believe that Canadians have consumed themselves also during the break, as they gradually lose the thread of the game and the Oilers took the opportunity to Picking up the score.
Well, it was perhaps not 100% concentrated on the game ... |
Despite the confusion reigning in the subway entrance, we manage to sneak into the first car. It was under the snow melts more than that we return to our home. This is precisely the time to cause a bit with Mark a few pictures of the evening ...
