A tentative agreement was reached between the co-founders of La Ruche and Olivier Laffon, the founder of MAS (Maison des Associations in the 13th district) moved to The Hive dock Jemmapes in the premises it has acquired against payment of rent. The premises are original and have good potential, including an indoor garden and a shop with direct access to the Canal (see cons). The Republic Square is ideal e tion to a few hundred yards away.

A ren t con re today between Charlotte Hochman, Arnaud Mourot, Aymeric Marmorat, M ichel Caleffi one hand, and Olivier Laffon Robert and Fred on the other, has Consolidated agreement in principle, to be followed early in January for a second working meeting to detail, a th time the foundations laid, contract details, including the nature and timing of the renovation. We share the vision of an ecological space and innovative to serve as a 'showroom' with original features in terms of saving energy, etc..

Opening of part of premises (or about 150 200m2) would be possible in March 2008 as promised, to accommodate contractors who have a time constraint, and the rest, with common areas in the coming months. From a temporal point of view as well as space, so that's a wonderful news.

A group visit with contractors will be held during January so that everyone can own the project, and to celebrate the building stone by stone from our little hive.

What a joy to imagine all that space! The Workshop on 12 November has generated a lot of ideas on the configuration space, the type of common areas would be most useful and enjoyable, and about what kind of workstations to optimize both concentration and collaboration. What
ideas, that ideas! And yes, if you ask people to think, we should expect an avalanche of ideas ... And guess what, we want more!

Caleffi Michele, who coordinates the design space by combining renewable energy and design, absolutely wants to incorporate the ideas of entrepreneurs, architects and specialists in eco-building to create the Hive. No way to meet some good ideas on an autumn evening!

SOME CRITERIA FOR THE AREA OF THE BEEHIVE

• Surface : 600 à 1000 m2, plateau ou étages mitoyens, lumineux.
• Localisation : Paris intra-muros ; préférence pour le centre-est et l’est parisien. Impératif : assez central et bien desservi par les transports en commun.
• Type de bâtiment : qui puisse accomoder des open spaces ; potentiel de cachet (atelier, structure apparente, ancien entrepôt etc.)
• Etat : Des travaux de rafraîchissement avec méthodes écologiques sont prévues.
• Usage et accessibilité : affectation d’usage bureau et si possible classement ERP5. Accès Disabled appreciated.
• Availability: immediately, no later than early 2008.
• Price: up to 250 € HT HC/m2/an

Excellent news and an encouragement to all those who are mobilizing to make a reality of The Hive: a major partner yesterday pledged as surety for the lease of La Ruche (More details next week about his identity).
The initial challenge is thus raised: the first major commitment should help everyone else. Next steps: negotiating a lease with a landlord and in parallel raise funds to renovate the place. Let us know! And bravo to all ... the journey continues.

The team found 2 or 3 rooms that have the desired profile, and negotiations are underway. The runway at Republic has not confirmed, but the hive in its nets equally beautiful surfaces. Some owners have already agreed to host The Hive, but until the lease is not signed, all avenues are considered.
